Trump Slams Chevron and ExxonMobil for Record Profits Amid Soaring Petrol Prices
US President Donald Trump has criticized Chevron and ExxonMobil for their record-breaking profits, citing soaring petrol prices that are straining households. Chevron reported its highest quarterly earnings in six years, with adjusted earnings per share reaching $6.06 or $12bn.
The company's CEO Mike Wirth praised employees for their work and announced bonuses equivalent to half of monthly base pay for most workers.
Trump accused the oil giants of profiting from his administration's efforts to help the industry, but Chevron's strong earnings are attributed to its reduced reliance on Middle Eastern production operations and increased refining capacity in the US.
