Trump Slams Chevron CEO, Demands Immediate Oil Price Cuts
US President Donald Trump lashed out at Chevron Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth on Monday, accusing him of failing to give credit to the Trump administration for the oil industry's current success.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued that Chevron and the broader US energy sector owe their recent gains and continued existence to his presidency, citing 'genius, foresight, strength, and stability.'
Trump pointed out that under his administration, the US tightened sanctions on Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro, severely restricting Chevron's ability to drill or export crude from the country. However, he claimed that the company is now set to make a fortune as a result of its return to Venezuela.
'That goes for other Oil Companies as well...and get your consumer (retail!) Oil Prices down, now!' Trump demanded on Truth Social, ordering major oil companies to drop retail fuel prices immediately.
