Trump Slams Oil CEOs Over Gas Prices
US President Donald Trump has once again urged oil companies to lower gasoline prices for American consumers. In a social media post, he chastised Chevron CEO Mike Wirth for not crediting his administration with helping the oil industry.
Trump claimed that without his administration's efforts, the oil industry would be 'dead.' He pointed out that Chevron was thrown out of Venezuela but has since returned and is now bigger and stronger than ever before.
Global oil prices plummeted after Trump called off a planned attack on Iran over the weekend. However, gas prices at the pump do not necessarily follow suit. Higher gas prices are a concern for Trump's Republican Party ahead of November's midterm elections.
