Nicole Saphier, President Donald Trump's nominee for surgeon general, has disclosed investments in tobacco company Philip Morris International and beverage companies Monster Beverage Corp, Coca-Cola Co., and Pepsi Co.

In an ethics agreement, Saphier pledged to divest from these companies, as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry leaders including Eli Lilly, Biogen, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Merck, AbbVie, and more.

Saphier has been a vocal advocate for removing food additives, cutting ultra-processed foods from diets, and encouraging exercise. She is also the founder of DropRx, which sells 'physician-formulated' herbal supplements.

The surgeon general position comes with significant responsibility, as the holder is considered America's doctor, responsible for communicating scientific information to Americans about improving their health.
