Trump Takes Credit for Chevron's Revival, Demands Oil Price Cuts
US President Donald Trump claimed that Chevron's revival is a result of his administration's policies. In a post on Truth Social, he said that Mike Wirth, Chairman and CEO of Chevron, had mentioned the reasons behind the company's success but failed to acknowledge the role played by his administration.
Wirth had commented during an interview with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, which Trump referred to as 'the fabulous Maria Bartiromo.'
Trump pointed out that Chevron had previously been forced out of Venezuela but was now back 'far bigger and stronger than ever before' and expected to generate substantial profits. He added that this applied to other oil companies as well.
The US President also urged oil companies to pass on the benefits to consumers by reducing fuel prices, saying 'Get your consumer (retail!) Oil Prices DOWN, NOW! Thank you for your attention to this matter.'
