Trump-Touted IndyCar Race Draws Big Corporate Sponsors
A high-profile IndyCar race, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, is set to take place around Washington, D.C. on Sunday, featuring several major corporate sponsors.
The event, touted by President Donald Trump, will see Boeing, SpaceX's Starlink, and Delta Air Lines among its new backers.
Bud Denker, chair of the 250-mile race and president of Penske Corp, said that the event aims to grow the sport by showcasing it to companies that were previously not involved.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian is expected to attend the event, which has dozens of corporate sponsors. Trump will wave the green flag at the start of the race and take a lap around the course in the presidential limousine.
