TrumpRx Prices Now Available Through Major PBMs
The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) has announced that its members have reached an agreement to offer information on cash prices available through TrumpRx, a platform unveiled by the White House in February. The commitment includes nine of the industry's leading pharmacy benefit managers, including CVS' Caremark, UnitedHealth Group's Optum Rx, and Cigna's Express Scripts.
Members covered by these PBMs will be able to see costs for drugs purchased through TrumpRx when using their plan's real-time benefit or other pricing tools. This agreement is seen as a step towards increasing transparency and competition in the pharmaceutical market.
PCMA CEO David Marin stated that this commitment will allow consumers to compare options and make better-informed choices about costs and where they access prescription drugs. This move is also supported by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz, M.D., who said that it offers 'the kind of transparency we need to boost competition, drive down costs, and deliver better value for American patients.'
