Trump's Iran Pause Sends Dow Futures Higher Amid Oil Price Drop

US stock futures rose across the board on Monday as oil prices declined, driven by diplomatic signals between Washington and Tehran. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.54% to trade around 52,920 during European trading hours, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.49% to trade near 7,550.

The move comes after US President Donald Trump announced a pause on planned military strikes against Iran, stating that Tehran and regional partners had requested time to negotiate a deal aimed at fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resolving concerns over Iran's nuclear program.

However, Iranian officials quickly refuted Washington's characterization of the situation, dismissing the claim as 'nothing but a new lie'. They reiterated that Iranian military forces remain on high alert and prepared for any scenario, leaving geopolitical uncertainty elevated across global markets.
