US President Donald Trump's visit to Ireland has sparked significant security and policing measures in Clare. Gardaí have set up a 'significant policing and security operation' for his stop at Doonbeg, where he will attend the Amgen Irish Open golf tournament.

Restrictions are in place across West Clare, particularly in Doonbeg village, with local residents being issued passes and asked to carry photo ID and proof of address for security checks. The N67 has been closed between Clonadrum Cross (north) and Doonbeg (south), with southbound traffic diverted via the R483 to Creagh and Cooraclare.

A designated protest location has been identified at Doonbeg village, while gardaí will be patrolling diversion routes to maintain free flow of traffic. Normal operations continue at Shannon Airport, but there will be additional security checks, with all visitors advised to have photo ID on them at all times.
