TUI Fly Replaces MAX 8s with Larger Boeing 737 MAX 10s for More Nonstop Flights

TUI fly Netherlands is replacing its entire Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet with seven larger 737 MAX 10 aircraft in 2027. The airline currently operates six MAX 8s, and the replacement will increase capacity without necessarily increasing flight frequencies. This change supports additional direct services on high-demand holiday routes, particularly to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.

The first Boeing 737 MAX 10 is expected to enter service during the first quarter of 2027, pending certification from regulatory authorities. If certification proceeds as planned, all six MAX 8s will be replaced by summer 2027. The larger aircraft will allow TUI fly to add more seats on popular routes without a corresponding increase in flights.

The shift towards nonstop flights and away from triangular routings is part of a broader network restructuring for the airline. While some smaller destinations may lose direct TUI fly services, passengers will still have access to these markets through partner airlines. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners operated by TUI fly Netherlands remain in the fleet, providing long-haul capacity for farther-flung destinations.
