Turf Club Bar & Grill Revamped Menu Wins Over Critics
Turf Club Bar & Grill at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort has finally reopened after a lengthy refurbishment, and it appears to have left its former self in the dust. The restaurant, known for its turn-of-the-century theme set in Upstate New York focused on horse racing, offers new menu items that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.
The atmosphere has undergone some changes, with a lighter and shinier look thanks to the refurbishment. Brand new carpeting and updated lighting panels have given the restaurant a fresh feel. But what really matters is the food, and Turf Club does not disappoint.
The Golden-fried Calamari with Shishito Peppers with Toasted Sesame Aïoli and Sweet Chili-Lime Sauce ($19) was a standout dish, with perfectly fried calamari that wasn't too chewy. The sauce added a nice touch of sesame flavor without overpowering the dish. Another hit was the Corn Flake-breaded Fried Chicken and Waffle ($29), which came with Roasted Jalapeño Maple Syrup and Candied Bacon Butter.
The Saratoga Cocktail, made with Michter's Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, Courvoisier VS Cognac, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters ($21), was a smooth and balanced drink that left no hint of burn. And for dessert, the Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake with Hazelnut Mousse and Berry Sauce ($12) was a decadent treat that combined rich chocolate layers with hazelnut flour and creamy mousse.
Turf Club is a must-visit for those looking for unique options in Disney World. It's also a great spot to relax and enjoy some good food without the busyness of a park. While it may not be the cheapest option, the quality of the dishes makes up for the price.
