Turkish Airlines Bolsters Fleet with 100 New Boeing Jets

Turkish Airlines has finalized an order for 100 Boeing 737 Max 8 narrowbodies, as well as options for 50 more of the same jets. This agreement also gives the airline flexibility to swap out the Max 8 for the larger Boeing 737 Max 10, which has yet to receive FAA certification. The deal is part of Turkish's goal to expand its fleet size, including its low-cost brand AJet, to over 800 in the next decade.

The current fleet consists of 469 in-service aircraft and 83 parked planes, according to Planespotters.net. With this order, the airline will have a total of more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including the additional Max planes, which will serve high-demand domestic and international routes from its hub in Istanbul.
