Turkish Airlines Commits to 150 Boeing Jets in Major Fleet Expansion
Turkish Airlines is making a significant investment in its fleet by ordering 150 Boeing jets. The agreement includes a firm order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and options for an additional 50 jets, with deliveries scheduled between 2033 and 2037.
The deal marks the second major purchase of Boeing aircraft by Turkish Airlines in less than two years, following a previous agreement to buy 225 planes. The airline currently operates over 200 Boeing aircraft and has plans to expand its fleet to exceed 800 aircraft by 2033 as part of its 'Vision 2033' strategy.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly when the deal was announced. US President Donald Trump welcomed the news, describing it as a major development for Boeing and US manufacturing.
