Turkish Airlines Commits to Buying 150 Boeing Jets

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to purchase 150 aircraft from Boeing, marking a significant expansion of its fleet. The deal includes a firm order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX jets and an option for 50 more. This move follows talks between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump at the White House last year.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, with deliveries scheduled to take place between 2033 and 2037. The deal is expected to generate tens of billions of dollars in sales and support tens of thousands of American jobs. Turkish Airlines currently operates a fleet of 514 aircraft and carries over 92.6 million passengers annually. The airline flies to over 130 countries, making it one of the largest carriers in the world.
