Turkish Airlines Lands Up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX Jets in Huge Deal
Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalized an order for up to 150 type 737 MAX aircraft, marking the airline's largest Boeing single-aisle order. Discussions around this deal began in 2025 and support Turkish Airlines' expansion aims.
The agreement was finalized in the presence of Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with Turkish Airlines purchasing 100 737-8 aircraft and securing options for a further 50 737 MAX jets. This allows the airline to substitute to the 737-10, the largest type in the 737 MAX family, if demand grows sufficiently.
Prof Murat Şeker, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee at Turkish Airlines, said that this agreement marks another significant step in the continued expansion of their fleet. The new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to their operations, supporting their extensive network from Istanbul.
