Turkish Airlines Locks in 100+ Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft Order
Turkish Airlines has finalized its largest order for Boeing single-aisle aircraft, purchasing 100 737-8 jets and securing options for a further 50 more. The deal includes substitution rights for the larger 737-10, allowing the airline to adapt the order as needed.
The 737 MAX is expected to reduce fuel consumption by about 20% and emissions by 20% compared to its predecessor. Turkish Airlines plans to use these aircraft to support domestic and international growth from its Istanbul hub, improving operational flexibility on short- and medium-haul routes.
The airline already operates over 200 Boeing aircraft, including the 737 MAX, 737 Next Generation, 777, 787 Dreamliner, and 777 Freighter. This latest order follows a 2025 purchase of up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners as part of its broader fleet expansion.
