Turkish Airlines Orders Up to 150 737 MAX Aircraft
Turkish Airlines has finalized an agreement with Boeing to purchase up to 150 737 MAX aircraft. The order includes 100 firm Boeing 737-8 jets and options for an additional 50 units, marking the carrier's largest single-aisle aircraft order with Boeing to date.
The agreement was announced in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who witnessed the deal that will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to Turkish Airlines' operations. According to Murat Şeker, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, 'This agreement represents another step in the continuous expansion of our fleet.'
The incoming 737-8 aircraft will serve high-demand domestic and international routes, delivering additional capacity alongside improved fuel efficiency and operational agility. The order complements a 2025 deal for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
