Turkish Airlines Orders Up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft
Turkish Airlines has signed an order agreement with Boeing for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This deal represents the airline's largest-ever single-aisle aircraft order with Boeing and aims to strengthen its short- and medium-haul network.
The agreement was finalized in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has been a key figure in Turkish Airlines' growth strategy. The airline placed a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and also secured options for an additional 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
One of the notable aspects of this agreement is that it gives Turkish Airlines the option to switch to the Boeing 737-10, the largest member of the 737 MAX family. This will enable the airline to plan its fleet capacity more flexibly in line with passenger demand across its network and operational requirements.
