Turkish Airlines Orders Up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft
Turkish Airlines has finalized an agreement with Boeing to purchase up to 150 aircraft from the 737 MAX family, marking the largest order for Boeing narrow-body aircraft in the carrier's history.
The deal, which was concluded on September 23, includes a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and an option for another 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Murat Seker stated that the new aircraft will improve operational efficiency and flexibility, supporting the carrier's flight network from its Istanbul hub.
The agreement was finalized in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and builds on negotiations that began in 2025.
