Turkish Airlines Orders Up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX Jets in Major Fleet Expansion
Turkish Airlines has placed an order for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking its largest single-aisle deal with the manufacturer. The agreement includes a firm order for 100 737-8 jets and options for 50 additional 737 MAX planes. This deal represents a significant expansion of Turkish Airlines' fleet, which currently operates over 200 Boeing airplanes.
The new 737 MAX aircraft will offer improved efficiency and flexibility to the airline's operations, supporting its extensive network from Istanbul. According to Boeing, the 737 MAX family reduces fuel use and emissions by 20% compared to previous models.
The order follows a similar agreement in 2025 for up to 75 787 Dreamliners. Turkish Airlines operates a global network of 567 passenger and cargo aircraft flying to 358 destinations in 133 countries.
