Twitch Enables Opt-Out Option for AI Model Training
Twitch has given streamers control over whether their content is fed into Amazon's generative AI machinery, but the setting is turned on by default.
Streamers can find the 'Training for Generative AI' control in channel settings and opt out of having their content used to train Amazon's generative AI models. This includes livestreams, videos on demand, clips, highlights, text, images, and chat messages.
Twitch says that opting out will prevent future use of the streamer's content for AI model improvements, but it does not guarantee that any previously used content will be removed from existing models.
The decision to turn off the default setting is a significant change for Twitch streamers, who now have more control over how their content is used. However, the fact that it was turned on by default has raised concerns about the use of streamer data without explicit consent.
