Twitch Streamer Sues Amazon Over Alleged AI Training Without Consent

A Twitch streamer from Connecticut has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Amazon and its subsidiary Twitch, claiming that they used creator videos for AI training without consent.

The lawsuit was filed by Warren Pandiscia on August 20, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, case number 3:26-cv-08721.

Pandiscia's complaint alleges that Amazon used Twitch streams and videos as training material for its generative AI products without asking creators for permission or paying them.

The lawsuit claims that the default setting on Twitch was switched on, requiring creators to find and turn off the opt-out switch in their account settings.

Twitch's own support language listed the covered materials as including streams, VODs, clips, highlights, stream chats, images, and text on a channel.
