Twitch users are up in arms after the platform confirmed that Amazon is training its AI models on Twitch livestreams. The news was met with widespread criticism, with many users expressing their dissatisfaction on social media and during a livestream explaining the changes.

The opt-out feature, which allows users to prevent their content from being used for AI model training, has been framed as a privacy feature unique to Twitch. However, users are not convinced, with some arguing that it's too late for them to opt out and that they should have been given more notice.

Twitch chief product officer Mike Minton said he didn't know whether Amazon had already been using Twitch livestreams to train models, while Mary Kish, Twitch's head of community, acknowledged that users might not be happy with the news. 'We don't expect you to be happy or excited about this,' she said.
