U.S. Government Backs IBM-Affiliated Quantum Foundry with Up to $1 Billion
The U.S. Commerce Department has signed a research and development support agreement worth up to $1 billion with Anderon, an IBM-affiliated company, under the CHIPS and Science Act.
The agreement follows a memorandum of terms announced in May and will support the development of Anderon's dedicated quantum semiconductor contract manufacturing infrastructure based in Albany, New York.
Anderon is a newly established subsidiary of IBM that operates as a 'pure-play' quantum foundry, providing wafer manufacturing services to customers in the quantum industry.
