U.S. Stocks Close Lower Amid Sector-Wide Declines
U.S. stocks closed lower on Tuesday, as losses in key sectors weighed on the market.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.79%, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.71% and the NASDAQ Composite index dropped 1.03%.
Apple Inc led gains among Dow components, rising 2.61% to $325.13, followed by Chevron Corp at 2.38% to $211.05 and Johnson & Johnson at 2.07% to $271.36.
The worst performers on the Dow were Sherwin-Williams Co down 2.62%, Home Depot Inc down 2.46%, and Caterpillar Inc down 2.30%.
