Ugborodo Committee Warns Against Protests Over Chevron Tensions

The Ugborodo Community Management Committee (UCMC) has issued a stern warning to a self-styled group calling itself the 'Voice of Warri Kingdom Women' over planned protests against Chevron Nigeria Limited.

The UCMC denies allegations that it is marginalized by Chevron and asserts that the community is not a no-man's land, but rather a Federated Community with established traditional and administrative structures.

The committee claims to be engaging with Chevron through lawful means, addressing issues such as unemployment, community development, and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and warns against external agitators disrupting the peace in Ugborodo.

UCMC has called on security agencies to remain vigilant and take note of any groups or individuals attempting to foment unrest in the area.
