UK Tribunal Revives Consumer Case Against Apple and Amazon
A UK Tribunal has revived part of a consumer case against Apple and Amazon, alleging that restrictions on Apple product sellers on Amazon's marketplace hurt competition and raised prices.
The Competition Appeal Tribunal permitted claims tied to Apple AAPL and Beats products purchased through Amazon AMZN UK marketplace to move forward.
The case alleges the companies reached an agreement in 2018 that limited the number of sellers able to offer the products on Amazon's UK platform, potentially affecting consumers who bought these products between £289 million ($383 million) and £306 million, including interest.
