UnitedHealth Group's stock price rose by 1.83 percent on October 2, 2026, to $371.90 per share on the NYSE, following news that plans covering 390,000 members will shut down for 2027.

The decision affects a significant portion of UnitedHealthcare's Medicare Advantage membership, which stood at 7.565 million as of June 30, 2026.

Despite this setback, the company has introduced its 2027 plans, with more than 94 percent of Medicare eligible people nationwide having access to a UnitedHealthcare Medicare plan, according to RTTNews.

The stock's price remains below its 52-week high of $461.62, but market analysts have set an average 12-month price target of $456.56, which is 22.8 percent above the current price.
