UniCredit, a leading pan-European banking group, has partnered with Accenture and IBM to develop Europe's next-generation banking platform. The collaboration will focus on designing a new operating model for banking technology that combines the resilience of mission-critical systems with the flexibility of modern digital platforms.

The partnership aims to give UniCredit greater control over its technology evolution while enabling continuous innovation. As part of the agreement, Accenture will acquire from IBM the majority stake in the joint venture that manages a significant portion of UniCredit's technology infrastructure.

IBM will provide modernized technology platforms to UniCredit, including IBM Z, software, and consulting. This is the beginning of a multi-year program to enhance the bank's underlying systems and operating model.
