United Airlines Reconnects Chicago to Tokyo Narita With New Daily Flights
United Airlines is reviving its direct service from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to Tokyo Narita Airport, which was last operated in March 2020. The new route will begin on October 24 and be served daily by a Boeing 787-8, with flights lasting up to 14 hours during winter months.
The significance of this move goes beyond just the return of one flight. With American Airlines set to join the route next year, Chicago O'Hare will temporarily have seven daily flights to Tokyo, split between Narita and Haneda airports.
United's Patrick Quayle highlighted the connecting role that Narita will play in its Pacific network: 'Our new Chicago to Tokyo-Narita service gives business and leisure travelers a premium onboard experience and the flexibility to continue their journey across Asia.'
