United Flight Diverted Twice After Engine Issue Forces Emergency Landing

United Airlines Flight 1403 from Los Angeles to Newark experienced an engine issue on August 27, forcing it to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas. The Boeing 757-200 aircraft landed safely at Harry Reid International Airport but passengers faced hours of disruption while a replacement plane was arranged.

The replacement aircraft eventually departed for Newark but was diverted again due to severe weather conditions. It finally landed in Cleveland and made its way to the gate after a 16-hour journey, leaving some passengers stranded until Saturday afternoon.

United has faced several recent diversions due to severe weather, including a temporary halt on operations at Denver International Airport just days ago. The FAA is investigating the engine issue on Flight 1403.
