UnitedHealth Outshines Humana in Valuation and Profitability
The healthcare industry is experiencing a showdown between two major players: Humana Inc (HUM) and UnitedHealth Group (UNH). Both companies are trading at nearly identical prices, but their valuations and profitability differ sharply.

The latest earnings releases favor UnitedHealth Group, with the company beating Q2 2026 EPS estimates by 31.55% and experiencing a positive 1.81% price reaction. In contrast, Humana beat EPS estimates by only 5.26%, but its stock fell 5.67% afterward.
The consensus EPS revisions over 90 days were +11.20% for UnitedHealth Group and -490.75% for Humana Inc, indicating that investors are more optimistic about the former's future earnings performance.
