Universal's New Coaster Sparks Noise Complaints, Disney Family Member Speaks Out
The theme park rivalry between Disney and Universal has taken an unusual turn as nearby residents have been complaining about the new roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Residents claim that the attraction's riders are screaming loudly enough to disturb their homes in surrounding neighborhoods. The issue led to a meeting on September 30 where over 350 people attended and voiced their concerns to Universal executives.
Roy P. Disney, Walt Disney's great-nephew and a local resident, spoke at the meeting and argued that the attraction is likely violating its land-use permits.
