University of Cincinnati Alumnae's Historic Career at Boeing

Dinesh Keskar, an aerospace engineering alumnus of the University of Cincinnati, has had a storied career at the Boeing Company. After earning his M.S. in 1977 and PhD in 1979 from UC's College of Engineering and Applied Science, Keskar spent nearly four decades at Boeing. He facilitated billions of dollars in sales and left an indelible mark on aviation, engineering, and internal industry collaboration.

Keskar began his career as a research engineer at Boeing in 1980, after completing his PhD. He spent three years in flight controls research before being given the opportunity to work in units across the business, including sales, production, and planning.

This unique assignment inspired Keskar to pursue a career in sales. He returned to school, earning his MBA in 1987, and eventually landed a job in marketing for Boeing. After interviewing with seven vice presidents of sales, Keskar was selected to work in the Asia-Pacific region, where he played a critical role in securing billions of dollars in deals.

Keskar's efforts led to Boeing landing its first billion-dollar deal with India in 1993 and ultimately secured $13.5 billion in sales. He estimates that he sold around 2,500 airplanes valued between $300-$350 billion USD during his career at Boeing.
