US Air Force Boeing Lands in Moscow After Detour via Latvia

A Boeing C-17A Globemaster III aircraft, tail number RCH4555, landed at Moscow's airport on Tuesday morning. According to flight tracking service Flightradar24, the plane arrived from Latvia, but its journey began in New Jersey over the weekend.

The aircraft took off from Joint Base McGuire on Saturday and made stops in South Carolina and Washington D.C.'s Joint Base Andrews before crossing the Atlantic overnight. It landed in Riga, Latvia's capital, on Monday, before continuing to Moscow on Tuesday.

The purpose of the flight is unknown, with no information available about the cargo or passengers on board. The Russian authorities have been expecting a visit from US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner in recent months.
