US Air Force Orders 22 More F-15EX Fighters in $2.38 Billion Deal
The US Air Force has signed a $2.38 billion contract with Boeing for 22 F-15EX Eagle II fighters, bringing the total number of F-15EXs on contract to 120 across seven production lots.
This deal comes on the same day that the Pentagon handed Boeing the Navy's sixth-generation F/A-XX fighter, marking a significant development in the country's military aviation capabilities.
The Lot 7 agreement is worth $2.38 billion and was signed by the Department of the Air Force on September 29, 2026, beating the clock as negotiators kept all 22 aircraft within available funding before the fiscal-year deadline of September 30.
The F-15EX is a modernized version of the classic Eagle airframe, featuring digital fly-by-wire flight controls, an all-glass touchscreen cockpit, and new mission systems, powered by two General Electric F110 engines.
