The US Air Force plans to acquire its first Boeing 737 MAX for VIP transport. The aircraft will be purchased using $250 million authorized in the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act.

No delivery timetable has been announced, but the purchase is significant as it marks the introduction of the new generation into US military service for the first time.

The Air Force already operates Boeing 737s as the C-40B and C-40C, which are based on the previous-generation 737-700. The new MAX will retain the familiar 737 lineage while introducing a substantially newer commercial platform.
