US and China Must Collaborate on AI Risk Management, Says Nvidia Founder
Nvidia founder Jensen Huang emphasized the need for improved communication and collaboration between the US and China to manage risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI).
Huang, whose company has a market capitalization of about $5.5 trillion, made these comments on Monday.
He noted that despite being competitors, the US and China can still collaborate on AI, as it is 'such an important and consequential technology' with the potential to do good or harm.
Huang's views follow comments by US President Donald Trump last week rejecting any attempts to subject US technology to international regulatory frameworks or global oversight. Trump also rejected a joint US-China AI safety framework over the weekend.
