US Launches Online Portal for Reporting Visa Fraud
The US State Department has launched an online portal to report suspected visa fraud and misuse. The new system allows individuals, companies, schools, and other entities to submit tips anonymously or with their contact information.
The portal covers various categories of visas, including tourist, business, employment, student, and immigrant or family-based visas. Users can provide details such as names, passport numbers, visa numbers, addresses, contact information, nationality, and social media profiles for individuals or organizations involved in suspected visa fraud.
The department warns that knowingly submitting false information could result in fines, imprisonment, or both. Reports submitted through the portal may be used to initiate or support law-enforcement investigations and reviews of immigration-related actions.
