US Navy Awards Boeing $562m Contract for MQ-25A Stingray Production
The US Navy has awarded Boeing a $562m contract for the production of MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial vehicles. The deal covers three Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) aircraft and funding for long lead components to support three more LRIP units in Lot 2. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2029.
Captain Daniel Fucito, the program manager for unmanned carrier aviation, hailed the contract as a 'pivotal transition from development to operational reality'. The MQ-25A will enhance the Navy's capabilities by providing refueling services and expanding its operational reach.
The MQ-25A Stingray is the world's first fully integrated, carrier-based UAV. With 76 units planned, it will play a key role in future naval aviation, integrating unmanned systems with manned platforms within the Carrier Air Wing (CVW).
