US Navy Selects Boeing for F/A-XX Program with Multi-Billion Dollar Contract
The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a multi-billion-dollar contract to produce its F/A-XX aircraft, marking the company's second selection for 6th-generation fighter work. The F/A-XX is intended to replace the service's fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets and will feature advancements in open mission systems architecture, advanced mission systems, and operational reach and capacity.
Boeing's president and CEO, Steve Parker, said that it was an honor to be selected for the program and that the company is ready to execute this critical project. The contract builds on Boeing's previous award for the U.S. Air Force's F-47 program in 2025.
The construction of Boeing's secure manufacturing facility in St. Louis continues, which will serve as part of the world's most advanced all-digital aerospace design and manufacturing system. Parker emphasized that investment in facilities is just one part of the story, with technology and people also being invested in to deliver for customers.
