US Permanent Visa Bond Programme Targets 50 Countries Including Nigeria
The US Department of State has made its visa bond programme permanent, affecting 50 countries including Nigeria and 29 other African nations. The programme requires certain travellers to pay a refundable $20,000 visa bond before obtaining some categories of US visas.
The measure aims to improve compliance with US immigration laws by enforcing conditions on visitor overstays. Travellers who adhere to visa conditions and leave the country within the approved period will have their bonds refunded.
