US Shares Close Lower as Dow Jones Technology Sector Declines
US shares closed lower on Tuesday, led by losses in the Dow Jones Technology and Healthcare sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.34%, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.32% and the NASDAQ Composite dropped 0.60%. Among the top gainers on the Dow Jones were Home Depot Inc., up 1.05% to $354.48, Chevron Corp., which added 0.90% to reach $196.66, and International Business Machines, also up 0.90% to close at $238.44.
The biggest losers included Honeywell International Inc., down 5.27% to $230.12, Amazon.com Inc., which declined 2.10% to $272.26, and Nike Inc., down 1.96% to $41.29.
The S&P 500's top performers were KKR & Co LP, up 6.91% to $111.00, Axon Enterprise Inc., which rose 6.69% to settle at $636.20, and Jabil Circuit Inc., gaining 5.94% to close at $356.61.
The worst performers on the S&P 500 were Amentum Holdings LLC, down 8.18% to $22.44, Ventas Inc., which lost 5.43% to settle at $86.96, and Honeywell International Inc., down 5.27% to $230.12.
