US Slams South Africa with Visa Restrictions Over Racism and Land Seizures

The US has imposed visa restrictions on foreign nationals allegedly responsible for racism and land seizures in South Africa.

The new policy targets individuals involved in laws or policies that enable uncompensated land seizures, race-based discrimination, or incitement of imminent violence against minority groups.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the decision, citing concerns raised by President Donald Trump's administration over racially motivated crime and government-sponsored discrimination against Afrikaners and other minority populations in South Africa.

The policy is authorized under Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows the Secretary of State to declare a foreign national inadmissible if their entry into the US would have serious adverse foreign policy consequences.
