US State Department Revokes Over 175,000 Visas Under Trump Administration

The US State Department has revoked more than 175,000 visas from foreign nationals since President Donald Trump took office. This move is part of an ongoing immigration enforcement effort that aims to remove travel and immigration privileges from individuals who have committed crimes or violated visa terms.

The revocations targeted those who had engaged in various forms of wrongdoing, including committing crimes such as assault, theft, and driving under the influence, as well as those who had called for violence against US citizens, committed fraud, or posed national security threats.

Most visa cancellations followed law enforcement encounters, with specific cases cited by the State Department including an individual charged with felony rape and sexual battery, another charged with kidnapping and human trafficking, and a person facing multiple counts of possessing child sexual abuse material.
