UnitedHealth's Optum Health division has exceeded its 2026 profit target, reaching 112% of its minimum full-year adjusted operating earnings. According to initial estimates, Optum Health reported $2.486 billion in adjusted operating earnings for the first half of the year.

This exceeds the company's $2.215 billion minimum target and is a significant achievement for the division. However, management has warned that revenue and membership growth will be challenging to sustain in the second half of the year.

Shares of UnitedHealth rose 1.1% to $411.53 in afternoon trading on August 10, with analysts expecting a small profit from Optum Health in the third quarter, followed by a minor loss in the fourth quarter.
