US State Department Revokes Over 250,000 Visas Under Trump Administration
The US State Department has revoked over 250,000 visas since President Donald Trump's return to the White House. The revocations are due to various reasons including criminal activity, visa violations, fraud, abuse of the immigration system, and national security concerns.
According to a State Department official, the department reached this milestone under Trump and Secretary Rubio. Tommy Pigott, a State Department spokesperson, said that 'under President Trump and Secretary Rubio, the State Department has now revoked more than 250,000 visas, a historic milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting the American people.'
The revocations include about 2,300 cases related to 'birth tourism,' where foreign nationals travel to the US with the intention of giving birth so their children can obtain US citizenship.
