The US stock market is closed for Labor Day, with major benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite experiencing a trading halt. The S&P 500 declined 0.4% to close at 7,718.60 on Friday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.5% to 53,414.25.

The closure follows a weak final session last week, with major stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, and Microsoft experiencing losses. The US bond market is also effectively closed, with the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association recommending a full trading halt for US dollar-denominated fixed-income securities.

The Labor Day holiday brings a three-day weekend to Wall Street, with regular trading resuming on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Indian investors trading US stocks and ETFs will not receive normal market execution while the US exchanges are closed, but orders placed during the holiday may remain queued for the next eligible session.
