US Stock Market Closes Higher as Oil and Gas Sectors Lead Gains
The US stock market closed on Thursday with most major indices higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.04%, led by gains in the oil and gas, industrials, and utilities sectors.
Boeing Co., Salesforce Inc., and International Business Machines were among the top performers, each rising over 2% to close above their previous days' highs. The big losers, on the other hand, included Walt Disney Company, Amgen Inc., and Johnson & Johnson, all of which fell by over 3%.
The S&P 500 saw its biggest gains from Accenture plc, Synopsys Inc., and Fair Isaac Corporation, each rising by over 11%. However, some companies reached their lowest points in years, with Corteva Inc. hitting an all-time low after falling 83.81%, and Wellchange Holdings Co Ltd reaching an all-time low of 79.36%.
