US Stock Market Sees Broad Gains Amid Pressure Points
The US stock market saw broad gains on September 11, with all major indexes trading higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 1.12% to 52,645.03, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.26% to 26,410.97. The S&P 500 was also up, increasing by 1.10% to 7,675.14.
The gains were driven by strength across several major constituents, with Intel leading the listed Dow gainers at $104.33, rising 4.00%. Other notable gains came from IBM, Cisco Systems, Caterpillar, and Boeing.
However, the market is also facing several potential pressure points, including higher interest-rate expectations, elevated crude prices, geopolitical tensions, and weakness in individual sectors. The US 10-year Treasury yield was reported at 4.940%, down 0.03 percentage point from previous levels.
